Heather Meeboer

Originally from Atlanta, Heather trained at The Georgia Ballet and Atlanta Ballet's Centre for Dance Education. She continued her dance studies in college under merit scholarships, attending both Brenau University and Point Park University before graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Classical Ballet from Radford University under the direction of Inessa Plekhanova. Heather performed with several Atlanta-area companies, including SIDEWAYS Contemporary Dance Company and Georgia Dance Theatre, before moving to Austin and becoming a Resident Artist with Metamorphosis Dance Ensemble in 2013. Some performance highlights include Lucile Grahn in Pas De Quatre, Doll and Spanish in The Nutcracker, 3rd Shade in La Bayadere, Black Swan variation, Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty, and Alice in Wonderland. In addition to performing with MDE, Heather is also an Associate Artistic Director and regularly choreographs for the company.

Heather earned a Pilates mat certification through Power Pilates in 2007 and has taught private neuromuscular reeducation sessions on the Redcord apparatus since 2009. She finds Pilates an excellent form of cross-training to complement the rigors of dance studies and credits Pilates and Redcord with keeping her injury-free throughout her professional dancing career. She also became certified in Progressing Ballet Technique in May 2019 and loves how the method so quickly activates the proper ballet muscles.

Heather offers lessons in ballet, contemporary, Pilates and PBT to all abilities and skill levels from ages 7 and up, and specializes in cross-training techniques for dancers and developing acting skills and artistry.
